My First Hike at Devils Lake

My first visit to Devils Lake happened to be during the fall season. I was mesmerized by the golden foliage blanketing the entire park. The air was crisp, the atmosphere magical, and without wasting any time, we grabbed a map at the entrance and began our hike.

Our destination was the famous Devils Door rock formation. Although the start of the trail was a bit challenging for me—since I hadn’t hiked in a while—I quickly adapted, thanks in part to the refreshments we brought along.

The trail was exceptionally clean, and everyone we encountered was incredibly kind. The hiking routes were well-marked, with signs and maps every 5-minute stretch, making it easy to stay on track.

Reaching the top and standing at Devils Door was a breathtaking moment. Of course, I made sure to snap a photo at the peak, with all of Devils Lake stretching out beneath my feet.

It was truly an unforgettable experience, and I can’t wait to return again.
