Representing Madison College at the Wisconsin Student Government Meeting
On October 3–4, 2025, I had the honor of representing 27,275 Madison College students as their Governor at the first Wisconsin Student Government (WSG) meeting of the academic year, hosted by Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire.
Our delegation included Lieutenant Governor Jagadeesh Sanjay, Advisor Kallio-Crotteau Cole, Senators Annette Rowder and Correy Sertzel, and Vice President Quinn Mattsson. Together we joined thoughtful conversations about the future of technical education in Wisconsin.
Key Priorities We Advanced
- Promote sustainability initiatives across campuses
- Expand support for international students to help make Wisconsin a global education hub
- Strengthen transferable credit pathways between WTCS and UW systems
- Enhance mental health awareness and access to resources
The discussions were insightful. Out of twelve statewide priorities, four originated from Madison College. This shows how engaged our students are and how committed we are to building a better educational system.
We also made a Motion to Table the final voting session. This allows more time to research and collect feedback from student bodies across the state so that the final list of priorities reflects every voice.
Attending this meeting reminded me that student voices are powerful when we work together. Leadership is collaboration, listening, and turning ideas into action.
